Booking and cancellation conditions for programmes and stays booked over several days.

These conditions apply to an Alpine Vertigo programme or stay sold as one booking over several days, including winter and summer programmes, private arrangements and group departures.
Your confirmation identifies the dates, activities, participants, total price, accommodation or other included services, exclusions and participation requirements. A sequence of guiding days is not automatically a package travel contract merely because it lasts several days. Where the services sold constitute a package or fall under mandatory travel legislation, those statutory protections apply.
Single-day and half-day activities are covered by our Day & Half-Day Activities conditions. Independently booked activities are treated as separate bookings.
Read these conditions with your written proposal, booking confirmation and our Terms & Conditions. Conditions accepted for an existing booking remain applicable; a new policy does not retrospectively change that contract.

A booking is confirmed after availability has been checked, the written proposal and conditions have been accepted, and the required payment has been received. Only services expressly listed as included form part of the agreed price. Additional expenditure requires your agreement.
Unless a different payment schedule has been expressly agreed in writing, the existing payment terms apply: 50% at booking when the start is more than 14 days away, with the balance due 14 days before the start; full payment at booking when the start is 14 days away or less.
Payment instalments and cancellation charges serve different purposes. The cancellation charge is calculated under section 04 and payments already made are credited against it.

Send cancellation notices to contact@alpinevertigo.com, identifying the booking and participants concerned.
Notice is measured from receipt of your email to the scheduled start of the programme, in local time at the starting location. One day means 24 hours. The programme’s first scheduled service is used as the start for a multi-day booking sold as a whole.
The boundaries in the table are exact: at precisely 60 days the charge is 30%; at 30 days it is 50%; at 15 days it is 75%; and at 7 days it is 100%, in each case subject to section 05.

Percentages apply to the agreed price of the cancelled booking. Payments received are credited against the charge; any excess is refunded and any outstanding amount remains due, subject to applicable law. This schedule adds no separate administration fee.
Where part of a booking is cancelled, the calculation must identify the affected services and their agreed price. A reduction in participant numbers does not automatically permit a new price for the remaining participants: any revised arrangement requires their agreement, subject to mandatory rules.

Where French package travel or other mandatory travel rules apply, cancellation charges must comply with those rules. A standard charge must be reasonable and justifiable, taking account of the timing of cancellation, expected cost savings and expected income from reselling the services. Where required, the amount is justified on request and reduced if necessary to comply with the law.
For a qualifying contract, exceptional and unavoidable circumstances at the destination or its immediate vicinity that significantly affect performance of the contract or passenger transport to the destination may entitle you to cancel without a cancellation charge and receive a full refund under Article L.211-14 of the French Tourism Code.
Neither the table nor supplier cancellation terms remove these rights. Refunds governed by Article R.211-10 are made without undue delay and no later than 14 days after termination.

Requests to change dates, participants or the programme must be sent in writing. Changes depend on availability and written agreement. If no change is agreed and you cancel, the applicable cancellation rules apply.
Where a statutory right to transfer a travel contract applies, it is preserved. The replacement participant must meet the conditions of participation. Any permitted transfer costs must reflect actual costs and be disclosed and justified as required by law. No automatic flat transfer fee is imposed by this document.

The responsible professional assesses weather, terrain, snow, access and participant suitability. Reasonable safety adjustments within the agreed service may be necessary. A particular summit or route is not guaranteed.
A substantial change outside the agreed service is explained to you, together with the available options and any applicable right to terminate without charge. Statutory rights relating to significant changes remain unaffected. An alternative programme is not imposed as a substitute for a refund to which you are entitled.

If Alpine Vertigo cancels the programme before it starts, you may choose an available alternative or a full refund of payments received for that programme. Any further entitlement under applicable law is preserved.
If we interrupt the programme and cannot deliver the remaining services, you may choose a credit or proportional refund for the unperformed part. The calculation reflects the services not provided; it is not automatically a simple division by the number of days if the booked services have different values. Rights to assistance, price reduction or compensation under mandatory travel law remain unaffected.
If a group departure requires a minimum number of participants, both that minimum and the notification deadline must be stated before booking. Any cancellation on that basis must respect applicable statutory deadlines and refund rights; this document does not create an unstated minimum-participant condition.

Illness, injury, travel disruption, a no-show or voluntary early departure does not automatically waive the applicable cancellation charge. Statutory rights and force majeure rules remain applicable.
We recommend suitable cancellation, medical, rescue and repatriation cover for the destination, activities, altitude and terrain concerned. Check exclusions and claim requirements with the insurer. No personal insurance is included unless your booking confirmation expressly states otherwise and supplies the relevant cover information.

Services you purchase separately from another supplier are governed by that separate contract. Their charges are not automatically added to the Alpine Vertigo cancellation charge.
Where accommodation, transport or other services form part of a package sold by Alpine Vertigo, supplier terms do not displace the customer’s statutory rights against the organiser or retailer. The same loss or service must not be charged twice.

Cancellation rights and cooling-off rights are different. The standard 14-day distance-contract withdrawal right is excluded for dated leisure services under Article L.221-28, 12° of the French Consumer Code. Package travel contracts are governed by their specific legal framework, including pre-departure termination rights. No general exclusion is applied automatically to undated products or other contracts.
